A shop, a clinic, a school, a podcast. A channel is the brand customers know. It has its own address, logo and customers, and it starts empty until you install the apps it needs.

A business can run several brands. Each brand becomes a channel with its own name, logo, icon, description and address. Customers, orders and bookings belong to the channel they came through.
A new channel has a few modules that are always there: Home, IAM and Admin, Users, Business and Apps. Everything else arrives with the apps you install. Install the Online Store and the catalogue and sales tabs appear. Install Website & App and you get content, pages and a mobile app section.
That keeps each channel as small as the brand behind it. A podcast does not need payroll, and it will not see payroll unless you add it.
Three steps from the Channels screen of any business.
Name it the way customers know it. Pick a category, add a 512 × 512 logo and an icon for the browser tab.
Take a free address that works in seconds, or enter your own domain. We show the DNS records once the channel exists.
Check the channel, category, address and business, then choose Create channel.
You land in the App store with a prompt to choose apps for day one. You can also skip for now.
Point your domain at the channel with one CNAME record. The security certificate is issued automatically.
