Fees, billing and refunds
How Intersink charges businesses and people: monthly invoices in arrears, credits, the developer fee, taxes, late payment, refunds and cancellation.
1. How you are charged
- Each business has one billing account and one invoice a month, in arrears, for what it used.
- Your channel’s app. Every channel runs one app, chosen when the channel is created. Its monthly price is shown in the app store and when you create the channel, and is charged per day the channel exists (the monthly price ÷ the days in that month). A channel keeps its app; the charge stops the day after the channel is closed.
- Cloud services (Developers › Cloud): each domain, server or other resource is charged per day it exists at the monthly price shown when you order it. A domain’s price is its yearly price ÷ 12 a month for the years you registered.
- Storage above the included amount, the developer fee when due, API usage above the free allowance, and anything else shown on the pricing page.
- Prices are in pounds (GBP) or US dollars (USD), depending on the business’s billing currency, and exclude VAT and other taxes unless stated.
- Credits (promotional or grants) are used first. Credits have no cash value and expire as stated when given.
- API usage: each business’s first 1,000,000 live API requests a month are included; above that, live requests are charged at US$2.00 (or £1.60) per million, pro rata, on the next monthly invoice. Sandbox (test) requests are free.
- We may ask a business to pay in advance or set a spending limit, for example for a new business, for large cloud orders or after failed payments.
2. Paying
- Invoices are due on the date shown. You can pay by card or bank transfer through our payment processors.
- If a payment fails, we tell you and try again. If an invoice is still unpaid 5 days after its reminder, the business’s billing is suspended: paid features stop until it is paid. Nothing else is suspended and no data is deleted because of late payment.
- For businesses, we may charge statutory interest and compensation on late commercial payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Disputing an invoice: tell us within 60 days of the invoice date; undisputed parts remain due.
3. Taxes
- We charge VAT where it applies. Businesses registered for VAT in the UK or EU give us their VAT number; reverse charge applies where the law allows.
- In the United States we collect sales tax where we are required to.
- You are responsible for the taxes on your own sales to your customers, unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
4. The developer fee
US$18 a year (£14 for businesses billed in pounds), added to the business’s invoice when it joins the developer program and each year after. It is not refunded if the application is refused, if you leave, or after a suspension or ending for a breach, except where the law requires.
5. Refunds and cancellation
Our Refund Policy sets out when money is returned, for consumers and for businesses, for apps and for cloud services.
6. Changes to prices
We give at least 30 days’ notice of a price increase, by e-mail and in the panel. If you do not accept it, you can stop using the affected feature before it takes effect without any charge for the new price.
7. Ads and ad partners
- Ad spend: each click costs at most the campaign’s bid and never more than its daily budget; each day’s spend is a line on the business’s monthly invoice. Invalid clicks are not charged.
- Ad partner earnings: partners earn their share (68% by default) of what advertisers spend on their platform; statements are monthly and are paid to the partner’s payout account from £50 (US$60), as set out in the Ad Partner Terms.
8. Money from your customers
Payments your customers make to your business through Intersink are processed by our payment partners and paid out to your business’s bank account under their terms and the Business and Channel Terms. Our fees are invoiced separately and are not deducted from payouts unless you choose so.
