Meet the people behind Neem Tree Education Trust

Neem Tree Public School has taught children in Chandanpur for over thirty years. The trust that runs it was set up by a group of parents and still has two of them on its board.
In the evenings the same building becomes the Neem Tree Study Centre, where Imran and a handful of teachers coach older students for entrance exams, some in the room and some online.
Then there are the events: annual day, a science fair, a book sale, and an alumni evening that grows every year. Ananya runs all of them with a borrowed laptop and a lot of goodwill.
What was going wrong
Admissions arrived as photocopies. Fee reminders were handwritten slips in school bags that did not always reach home. Report cards took the office a fortnight each term.
The study centre sold its courses through a separate site with a separate login, and the events team collected ticket money in envelopes. The trustees could not see the whole picture without asking four people.
“Parents trust us with their children. The least we can do is make sure a fee reminder actually arrives.”
The workarounds that got them this far
- A school management package on one office PC
It worked, but only in the office, and only Thomas knew how.
- A separate course platform for the study centre
Students had another password, and the money landed somewhere the trust’s accounts never saw.
- Envelopes and a notebook for events
Honest, slow, and impossible to reconcile after annual day.
Neem Tree Education Trust on Intersink
Revathi creates her User ID and adds the trust as the business. The school, the study centre and events each get a channel, and a fourth channel holds the office work. Thomas is given the school channel, Imran the study centre, Ananya events, and the trustees a role across all four.

A day in their life, some months in
Attendance is taken class by class on a tablet. Parents of absent children get a notice through the parent app.
Thomas checks new admission forms with documents attached. Nothing is photocopied.
Fee reminders go out for the term. Parents pay online and receipts arrive straight away.
Ananya opens ticket sales for the science fair. Stalls, visitors and sponsors each get their own ticket type.
Imran’s evening cohort starts. Students who missed last week watch the recording and take the quiz.
A parent asks about evening coaching on the school’s website chat. Thomas passes it on, and Imran adds the family as a lead in the study centre’s CRM.
What is different now
In plain words, because this is an illustrative story and there are no real measurements behind it.
Fees and notices reach home
Reminders and receipts go to the parent, not to the bottom of a school bag.
Report cards stop eating a fortnight
Marks go in during the term, and report cards come out as PDFs.
Events money is counted as it comes
Tickets are sold and checked in by QR, so there is nothing to reconcile from envelopes.
The board sees the whole trust
Trustees look across all four channels without chasing four people for updates.

What others could take from this
- Begin with what parents feel
Admissions and fees touched every family, so that was where the trust started.
- Let each part keep its own space
The study centre has a different audience and rhythm from the school, so it has its own channel.
- Check if you qualify for credits
A registered trust may be able to apply for nonprofit credits, which are used before the card is charged.
Running a school, a college or a coaching centre?
Admissions, fees, courses and events, set up per channel.
